JUST A WORD ABOUT INDUSTRIAL DESIGN

'Design' is defined as the process that connects creativity with innovation. This is achieved by shaping ideas into practical and attractive products for buyers and users. In addition to creating a top quality product, technically speaking, we are also very much aware of the importance of a design that pleases the eye; Functional is not by definition ugly, also when, in the end, the product will be installed under the floor.

A fine example thereof is our range of bow thrusters. You won’t see much of it, apart from the handsome control panel, but the unit itself, the invisible helping hand when manoeuvring, is equally nicely shaped!

Our efforts in this respect have not remained unnoticed by the true experts either. Our bow thrusters have recently been nominated as a candidate for the prestigious Dutch Design Award.
Craftsman Marine is now one of the three remaining nominees. October 23rd next will be the “prize-giving” day and we shall keep you informed about the outcome. Meanwhile, please judge for yourself and have a look at www.dutchdesignawards.nl.
